The workshop is the pedagogically coordinated with Andrea Romani, a student of Omer Erdogdular, and will include this year Aliosman Erdogdular as ney teacher, who will contribute to the spread of knowledge of his father Omer Erdogdular.
Who's organizing
The workshop is coorganized by the Centre Français du Patrimoine Culturel Immatériel (CFPCI)
and Makam Odissey. The CFPCI is a place of information, documentation, training, reflection,
recovery, education and transmission, dedicated to Intangible Cultural Heritage and cultural
diversity. Located on the territory of the Marches of Brittany, it fulfills its task of organizing and
cultural education, with local, regional and international partners. Makam Odissey is a group of
artists, volunteers, intellectuals, friends, and professionals of the cultural field, engaged in the
transmission of Ottoman music and makams, and aiming to build bridges between cultures.
TeachersI'
Omer Erdogdular and Ahmet Erdogdular try to share with international students a knowledge that
comes from a “far” culture. Their teaching method is apt to students with different backgrounds
and different levels of music skills. Language and music skills are never an obstacle: “We seek to
experiment dialogue between cultures, in a peaceful context and though mutual respect.
